Meditation is an effective remedy for stress and stress-related problems. In this 2-part-course you will learn how to calm and stabilize your mind and how to promote mental and physical health and stability in body and mind, supported by simple and practical methods from traditional Tibetan medicine.
Content: basic relaxation techniques, concentrative meditation and mindfulness, simple herbal treatments from traditional Tibetan medicine. Furthermore you will learn more about the view of traditional Tibetan medicine on nutrition and lifestyle.
The word “SOGOM” is composed of two Tibetan words: “Ngal So” means to relax and “sGom” is the Tibetan word for meditation. The SOGOM® practice was developed by Ven. Lama Geshe TenDhar and combines meditation and mind training with the knowledge of traditional Tibetan medicine. It is used for relaxation and stress reduction.
When you are stressed, when your mind is not at rest, your body becomes tense. Through special forms of meditation, relaxation exercises and the stimulation of special energy points, you bring your energies – especially the wind energy (tib. rLung) to flow again.
In our course SOGOM® – Relieving Stress through Meditation you will learn how to
- collect and calm your mind through concentrative meditation,
- get to the bottom of negative emotions through mind training and analytical meditations,
- gain serenity, relaxation and ease through gentle herbal applications from traditional Tibetan medicine.
The course consists of two parts that build on each other.
