Understanding the Wisdom of Emptiness

10. June 2018Advanced, Buddhism, SeminarsTCA

2020 – 2021
Detailed explanations on emptiness – webinar series

8 teachings have been recorded so far, continuation from May 2021, total 15 – 20 teachings

In this online course our revered teacher Lama Geshe TenDhar will teach the chapter “Special Insight” from Je Lama Tsongkhapa’s “Great Treatise on the Graduated Path to Enlightenment” (Tib. Lam Rim Chen-mo). In this profound and extensive part of his Lamrim text, Tsongkhapa explains the immaculate view of emptiness with extreme clarity in order to avoid misunderstanding.
In particular, the lectures deal with the exact determination of the object of negation: What exactly is negated or denied by emptiness? In this context, a too narrow or too broad concept of emptiness is also discussed, as well as the differences between the doctrines of Svatantrika and Prasangika Madhyamaka.
If we understand these explanations by Je Lama Tsongkhapa, we have a flawless and clear understanding of emptiness, which we can subsequently apply in our meditation practice.
