Tibetzentrum, July 8, 2018 – In a cheerful mood, 100 guests attended our ceremonial diploma ceremony. 30 successful graduates of the diploma courses “Buddhist Philosophy and Religion”, “Buddhist Science of Mind” and “Traditional Tibetan Medicine” received a Katak (= Tibetan prayer scarf) and their diploma from director Gesche TenDhar (photo).
“I am very happy and proud that in recent years 600 participants have completed diploma courses with us,” said Gesche TenDhar. “The knowledge that you acquire from us benefits not only you, but above all your family, friends and society as a whole”.
Tibet Center emphasizes values such as tolerance, compassion and loving kindness in its educational program. In addition to diploma courses, seminars and lectures are also offered.
And because the Dalai Lama had his birthday on July 6, the celebration continued immediately. After a Tibetan fire ceremony at the prayer wheels in front of the house (photo) the festive society went back to the house and celebrated and dined with Tibetan music.
The crowning finale was a Tibetan group dance with enthusiastic participation (photo).
Tibet Center with its thousands participants has developed into a cultural and economic factor in the Görtschitztal region in recent years. It is under special patronage of the Dalai Lama, who already visited the center several times and announced also a further visit in the coming years.
On 6 July 2018, the Nobel Peace Prize winner celebrated his 83th birthday.
