Dr. Tsultrim Kalsang is a well reputated research doctor at Materia Medica Department at the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute of His Holiness (Men-Tsee-Khang), Dharamsala, currently involved with the conservation and cultivation of medical plants and consulting the patients.
He graduated from Men-Tsee-Khang in 1997 focusing on Tibetan Medicine and Astrology and Buddhist Philosophy.
In 1993 and1996 he did research in cooperation with the Institute of Pharmacognosy of the University of Vienna and works on the characteristics and identification of various plants. Tsultrim Kalsang also did research on endangered and red list Tibetan medicinal plants collaborating with Arvana Institute of Environmental Studies, Israel.
Tsultrim Kalsang was chief editor of Tibetan Medical and Astrological College Journal (Gang -ri lang-tso) in 1996 and published his first book in 2008 "Compilation Research on Integration of Meteria Medica of Tibetan Medicine, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha & Chinese Medicine".
Apart from that he is one of the primary persons for courses in Tibetan Medicine in English and visited France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Holland, Israel and India giving lectures, attending workshops and consulting patients.
After intensive post-graduate study he was awarded the Menrampa Degree (MD) with distinction in 2009. In the same year Dr. Tsultrim Kalsang received the award in recognition of successful completion of a concentrated course in Panchakarma and Special Therapies of Kerala at Kerala Ayurveda Hospital, Aluva, India.
Dr. Tsultrim Kalsang is currently the research doctor of the Materia Medica Department as well as Head of the Mild Therapy Centre of Men-Tsee-Khang.
