works at the clinical research department at Men-Tsee-Khang, Dharamsala and as a consulting physician for the Rajpur Branch clinic in Dehradun. Her academic achievements include positions as coordinator of a clinical trial in the treatment of hypertension among Tibetan refugees and as coordinator of a cancer case study in collaboration with Emory University, USA. Dr. Lhundup completed internships as medical doctor at several branch clinics of Men-Tsee-Khang and further trainings in Emergency Medical Rescue and Tuberculosis Control. She is a registered doctor of Traditional Tibetan Medicine with the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine.
